Handcrafted original aircraft skin from an AIRBUS A330-200. 

The Airbus A330 is a medium to long-range wide-body twin-engine airliner produced by the Airbus Group. Its fuselage design is derived from the A300, while the cockpit and fly-by-wire control system are derived from the A320. The A330 and the four-engine Airbus A340 were developed simultaneously, sharing the majority of components such as fuselage, wings, except for the engines.

Originally aimed to compete directly with the Boeing 767 in the ETOPS market, Despite being born at the heyday of the Boeing 747-400, as well as the three-engine airliners like the DC-10, MD-11, and L-1011 in the 1990s, despite most of Airbus' focus on projects like the A320, A340, and A380, despite overshadowed by the larger Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 despite facing direct competition from the much more advanced Boeing 787, the A330 still surprised many by becoming the most delivered wide-body twin-engine aircraft in the world after over 30 years from its first flight, with its lower unit cost as well as its suitable range and payload.

On November 10, 2000, the Airbus A330-202 MSN 339 took its maiden flight at Toulouse with its GE CF6-80E1A4 engines. The brand-new airliner, was delivered to Canada 3000 Airlines as C-GGWD to operate charter flights on September 25th. However, as the airline ceased operations in August 2001, the airliner joined Italy's Volare Airlines on April 11, 2002 as I-VLEF. Following Volare Airlines' restructuring in March 2003, the airliner joined Etihad Airways from the UAE on February 15, 2005 with the registration A6-EYW. On April 1, 2008, it joined Air One—the low-cost subsidiary of Alitalia—with the registration EI-DIP. With Air One merged into Alitalia on January 13, 2009, EI-DIP ended its nine-year journey of wandering and carried Alitalia's classic green cheatline livery, flying from Rome to destinations worldwide as the airline's first A330. The aircraft was named after Gian Lorenzo Bernini, an Italian sculptor, architect, and painter. With Alitalia's brand upgrade in 2015, EI-DIP shed its classic cheatline and received a new livery with a pearlescent background.

In 2021, Alitalia was reorganized into ITA Airways with the original fleet fully transferred to ITA Airways. Unfortunately, EI-DIP never got to wear ITA's new blue livery; Instead, on September 19, 2023, it operated its final commercial flight AZ619 from Washington Dulles (IAD) to Rome Fiumicino (FCO). On September 26th, this aging Airbus A330 was ferried to St. Athan Airport (DGX) in the UK for dismantling—ending a flying career of 23 years. As one of the few aircrafts dismantled wearing Alitalia's 2015 livery, EI-DIP did not completely vanish from aviation history but joined the Airlinertags fleet and became this tag in your hands.

Aircraft Skin Origins:
Our aircraft skins have a rich history, having been flown with the aircraft for years before being parked in Boneyards, or during cargo conversions. We then handcraft these skins into tags. It's important to note that minor scratches and paint drops are normal due to their previous life.

Tag Usage Recommendations:
Hexagons and multicolour rectangle tags are not recommended for use as keychains. However, all rectangle tags come with a ring for daily use, providing convenience and durability.

Packaging Details:
Your package will include a cardboard piece alongside the tag. The hole and rings provided are designed to easily connect the two components, ensuring a secure and organized presentation.
